The Belgian Bone Marrow Register, together with Belgian Red Cross-Flanders, Croix Rouge de Belgique and several hospitals, is calling for more ethnic variation in the stem cell database. One in three patients with Turkish, North or Central African roots cannot find a suitable stem cell donor. The organizations will use World Stem Cell Donor Day on September 17 to find additional donors.
