The planned exhibition on the life’s work of the designer Wolfgang Joop (80) in Potsdam has been canceled.
“The exhibition planned for September 2025 about the entire work of Wolfgang Joop will not be able to take place to the regret of all participants,” said Joop and his partner Edwin Lemberg. The ‘Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung’ previously reported.
“Complexity and scope when viewing his work” could ultimately not be realized due to the limited structural conditions of the museum. A multimedia exhibition concept in the municipal museum in Potsdam was planned.
In August 2023, Mayor Mike Schubert (SPD) and the designer in the town hall signed a joint contract to issue the works. Then delays for the Joop show were announced several times. An exhibition with such a high artistic claim requires enough time for time.
The fashion designer Joop is born in Potsdam and lives in the Brandenburg capital, which he feels deeply connected.
