The ex-eagle praises the power of soma and the helpfulness of people.

Toni Nieminen stayed on the road, but the helpful people helped him on his way home. Elle Laitila

Toni Nieminen50, home trip on Sunday night in a dramatic way when his car’s front tire exploded while driving.

– Fortunately, it happened in the seventies area. If there was a pace, it would have been a bit more difficult. It was emptied of one -off, Nieminen repeats IL.

– The original reason was probably that the tire had failed the frame. It started shortly before that to shake and beat the wheel. I was already thinking about all the horror scenarios, and for the rest, the whole tire exploded.

The hill legend, who was at work in Parikkala this weekend, was fighting a car with an empty tire to the Utin ABC parking lot.

It was a salvation in the heat.

– It was fortunate in the accident that I got into the yard of the gas station and got a little drink when it was pretty damn warm.

Help was found through soma

After a cooling huuka, Nieminen started changing the tire, but the task did not succeed with a grid key alone.

So he took the phone in his hand and asked for help through his Facebook and Instagram account.

The social cry yielded results. More people arrived in a fairly fast schedule who wanted to offer their helping hand.

– It didn’t go long ago. Thanks to all the helpful people who conveyed the word and posted the message. There was help and knowledgeable guys with tools.

“Fortunately, people still have the desire to help and feel good that on Sunday night they came in with the Renssels and let a polo boy out of the bump,” he says.

He was not familiar with the man who started to change the tires, but he revealed that they had met once earlier.

At that time, Nieminen was just a beginner’s starter.

– He remembered that he had sometimes given me a 15 -meter jumping hill 35 years ago. The world is small, Nieminen laughs.

Thank you

Nieminen eventually got home in the Helsinki metropolitan area after midnight. The journey from Utu took his time because he decided to cautiously rumble with a “bike ring” spare disc.

– There, the caravans passed me by when I stumbled home. There was a risk that something would still happen to that spare wheel. Then I would have just been fucked up, he recalls.

The week begins with rubber shops because for the coming weekend Nieminen will head to the King’s Races in Oulu.

– After all, these extra curls always eat a man. I can’t thank the helpful gentlemen who made it to the help. Warms the mind that Finns still find the desire to help. I’m extremely grateful for it.
