The call turned out to fall on deaf ears, and Italianander could no longer handle the flow of responses, he told NH.

“The phone is ringing off the hook, so I no longer answer or read the emails. I therefore call on relatives who want to pick up the stone to come to the store.”

The family tree of the deceased woman has now been researched by several people. That’s how someone found her in his own family tree. “They are very distant relatives, but I have no further contacts within that family,” he told NH. “She was unmarried and her six brothers and sisters are deceased,” he knows.

Stone for a hit-and-run kitten

Italianander himself, if no one came forward, already had a destination for the gravestone. “My kitten was hit by a car a few days ago and we buried it on the side of the road. I thought: I’ll turn it over and make a nice grave for my cat who was hit by a car.”

That turned out not to be necessary. The entrepreneur posted a photo on social media this afternoon of someone who came to pick up the tombstone. It is not known how she is related to the deceased woman.

Text continues after the photo.
