Maarten van Rossem is very surprised about the revelation that Tom Egbers has shown bullying behavior behind the scenes of NOS Sport. “I must confess that I always liked him very much.”
Tom Egbers has confirmed in the talk show Khalid & Sophie that he has shown harassing behavior towards an intern, because she confessed their affair to his wife Janke Dekker when asked. Many people did not see all this coming, also because the same Janke has been shouting in the media for months that Tom is such a sweet man.
‘Tom always nice’
What does Maarten van Rossem think of it? He is surprised, he indicates in his podcast Martin The Podcast. “I must confess that I have always found Tom Egbers to be a very nice man. That you think: how is it possible? I wasn’t looking for that after him.”
Did he also like Matthijs van Nieuwkerk in real life? “With Matthijs I thought very differently about the niceness factor. I didn’t like Matthijs at all, but Tom seemed to me anyway – I’ve spoken to him once or twice in my life – a very nice man. I believe we were talking about football if I remember correctly.”

What about Jack van Gelder? “Well, look: I had nothing else with Jack van Gelder.”

Not helped
Private boss Evert Santegoeds finds Tom especially clumsy, he says in the podcast Strictly Private. “I don’t think he helped his own case at Khalid & Sophie very much, because his wife Janke was denying everything at the beginning of the week and he actually came there to confirm everything.”
In that talk show, too little was said about bullying, says Evert. “I thought it was a bad thing that it wasn’t about that, because that’s exactly what the whole case is about. He was now talking very much about the cheating and how it amounted to little more than three years of kissing. That seems strong to me, but we believe him on his blue eyes. haha.”

Yvonne Coldeweijer has in her Juice Show the fiercest opinion of Tom. The juice queen thinks his bullying has really gone too far. She especially points to the finger-to-throat gestures made by the presenter.
