Professional collapsed at the finish and has to go to the hospital

Following the 16th stage of the Tour de France, a driver of paramedics had to be medical. The reason: he had collapsed at the finish line.
Dramatic moment at the 16th stage of the Tour de France: Tobias Halland Johannessen collapsed immediately after arrival at the legendary Mont Ventoux. The Norwegian, currently eighth of the overall ranking, was then supplied by paramedics. Images showed how Johannessen was looked after lying on the ground and later removed by an ambulance.
Shortly afterwards, his team UNO-X Mobility informed about Instagram: the driver felt pain in the right upper abdomen during the climb. According to the target, he was immediately examined by doctors and supplied with oxygen. “He is doing much better, but he will go to the local hospital for further investigations,” it said.
Later in the evening there was further all -clear. According to the Norwegian broadcaster TV2, Johannessen announced that he wanted to start again on Wednesday at the 17th stage. Previously, his twin brother Anders Halland Johannessen, who was also in the race for Uno-X mobility, told the station that his brother was already doing better.
Like some other tour professionals, Tobias Halland Johannessen was not able to follow Jonas Vingegaard on Tuesday at the pace sharpening, lost the connection to the top drivers. In the end, he crossed the finish line with a deficit of 5:11 minutes to the stage winner Valentin Paret-Peintre-28th place. In the overall ranking, he is now 17:01 minutes behind the leading Tadej Pogačar.
