Tinder adds new ‘Matchmaker’ feature that lets friends and family suggest potential matches | Tech

The new feature allows users to start a Matchmaker session and then invite up to 15 friends or family members to work as ‘cupids’ for 24 hours.

The ‘Matchmakers’ do not have to download the app or create an account, but will be able to assess potential matches via a unique link. After 24 hours, the user receives an overview of the profiles that have received a like. The user then still chooses who he or she likes, but now also knows who his or her friends like.

“For years, singles have been asking their friends to help them find their next match on Tinder. Now we make that easier with ‘Tinder Matchmaker’,” says Melissa Hobley, head of marketing at the popular dating platform. “’Matchmaker’ can show you the possibilities that you may not immediately see and this from the perspective of your immediate environment.”

The new feature is currently available in fifteen countries including France, Germany, Spain and the UK, but will be “rolled out globally in the coming months”.
