Tina Nijkamp sold her white design lamp from Marcel Wanders because she did not want to be reminded of the money smug at the NPO at home. “There were 58 of those things there!”

TV authority Tina Nijkamp went completely loose last year on the NPO when she discovered that there were dozens of design of Marcel Wanders in the building of 3,500 euros each. A ton of lamps? Ridiculous, she thought it was. “When you come in, you don’t know what you see how chic that is. Then I think: you can also just go to the Leen Bakker?”

Lamp

Tina now reveals that those lamps are already going out. “They are now renovating, because all those Marcel Wanders lamps … If you enter there, there were 58 Marcel Wanders lamps or something of 3,500 euros.”

She continues in her podcast The Media Week: And I know that, because I had such a lamp at home. I just sold it because I couldn’t look at it anymore, because I had to think about the NPO all the time. Seriously! Hahahaha .. ”

Rebuild

So now money is being thrown to brighten up the NPO building, according to Tina. “I sold it, but they were really there and now they are renovating. Now there are still a few somewhere if you walk to the corridor or the lift, because I was there last week for a radio show on Radio 1.”

She continues: “But they are renovating, so that will of course also cost a lot of money. Yes, why there should be renovation, nobody knows, but well: it all keeps themselves busy.”

Three transmitters

The umbrella NPO organ gets far too much money, says Tina. “It is people who just have to fill the three channels with programs they receive, plus a streaming service. I don’t want to do silly, but they do that at RTL and with SBS with a maximum of eight people, in total with everything, where the promos should be, you name it.”

“So they have 560 people working there and so they work a lot at the management, because there is 16 million a year. Those people all earn the WNT standard. Well, that will be 250,000 euros next year. That is of course bizarre, because why do you get so much money in one after the other?”

“Look critically at it!”

Those managers are all overpaid, Tina believes. “Is that comparable to what a prime minister does or what a minister does? No. And then they have 12 million for marketing, while everyone knows that every broadcaster also has a marketing department.”

She concludes: “And then they have housing and support. Well, those are the furnishing items, the renovations and everything: 21 million. There must be more money to the programs and all those management layers: look really critically at that!”
