Tina Nijkamp, viewing figure connoisseur and former channel boss of SBS 6, thinks the new logo of the channel is progress. “It’s not a warm red, but it’s much less chilly.”
SBS 6 has quietly launched a new logo. It is still blue, but slightly less icy than the previous logo. A big improvement, says former broadcaster boss Tina Nijkamp. “The figure is slightly fuller. It is not the warm red that I was hoping for recently, but I just saw that it can all get different colors.”
Much hotter
The option to give the logo different colors is praised by Tina. “Very nice, much and much less chilly because of that. Weather much warmer and more family. Now drone images of Dutch villages, nature and cities back in the design.”
Just before the turn of the year, Tina told in the podcast Content Wars that the design of SBS 6 lacked warmth. “I think it’s a shame they made the logo blue, which is a cold color, instead of red. We always had very beautiful images about the Netherlands. I really thought that… When I think about it I get goosebumps again, I thought that was so beautiful.”
Very graphic
When Tina was in power at SBS 6, the channel was full of typical Dutch images. “I really liked that. I’m sorry they parted ways with that. It’s very graphic now, so it’s gotten a bit chillier. I tried very hard to transfer the heat to that channel, because I am convinced that television is your best friend.”
She continued: “I really miss the emotion that television conveys in the design at SBS 6.”
Fragment
SBS 6 has now changed that. The new logo in pictures:
