Time is ticking for Efteling: “We would not be the first park to sell its soul”

To remain the boss of its own park, Efteling must grow to 7 million visitors per year. To achieve this, the amusement park must expand considerably with new attractions. The park has been saying this for twelve years, but it has not gone much further than felling a few trees and relocating a road. How is that possible? Director Fons Jurgens explains. “We still hope that the nature permit will be issued soon. But if that is not the case, we will have to move on.”
