TikTok will collaborate with Spotify and Amazon Music | Tech

TikTok comes with the new Add to Music App feature. This allows users to save songs they discover via TikTok to their favorite streaming service. The service will first be rolled out in the United States and the United Kingdom. Other countries will follow later.

In a press release, TikTok reports that the Add to Music App is being launched ‘in collaboration with major music streaming services, including Amazon Music and Spotify’. According to Music Business World, the feature will also be available to Apple Music users. On Amazon Music, the feature is only for Prime members and Amazon Music Unlimited users.

TikTok calls itself in the press announcement “one of the world’s best places to discover both new and older music, with increasingly viral trends driving music listening on streaming services.”

TikTok CEO Ole Obermann said Tuesday that the new cross-platform feature “creates a direct link between musical discoveries on TikTok and consumption on a music streaming service.” He said the Add to Music App makes it “easier than ever to enjoy the full track on one’s favorite streaming service, generating even more revenue for artists and rights holders.”
