Wereldster Tiësto is proud of the new away shirt from NAC this season. The completely black outfit is an ode to the night, the night at NAC and on the most famous Bredanaar of all. For Tijs Verwest, as the DJ is really called, it is a special milestone: “I am very proud that I am standing on this shirt. As a NAC supporter from an early age, this feels like coming home.”
“Here is the new addition of NAC,” Tijs jokes when he shows the new away shirt of NAC on the main field at the presentation. The world star, who now lives in America, is at ease in his hometown and at his favorite football club.
The DJ sold millions of records worldwide and he is still running at the biggest festivals, but in Breda Tiësto is just ‘Tijs from around the corner’. “I was born close by in Tuinzigt,” he says. “As a little kid of eight I was already a fan of NAC. I was in the old stadium on Beatrixstraat almost every two weeks. You will never forget that.”
“It’s really super cool to be on this shirt, an honor.”
Even though he lives on the other side of the ocean, Breda remains his home. “When I walk through the city here, everyone appeals to me as a Bredanaar and not as a DJ Tiësto. Then it comes from:” Hey Tijs, where did you get that sandwich? ” Or from: “Drink beer?” I like that here. “
On the shirt his name is small on the back, just below the collar and on the front you can read on the chest in a shield: ‘Tiësto from the pearl of the south’. “This feels very special to me. It is an honor.”

According to NAC, the shirt was deliberately presented just before the first home games in the dark months. The jet -black design, made by Myrthe Koppelaar and Hugo de Graaf, symbolizes the night and thus also marks the start of the celebration of a 50 -year NAC evening. With this phenomenon, the fanatic experience of the supporters, the Breda club enjoys national fame.
If your Tijs Verwest asks what is bigger – DJ Tiësto or the NAC night – then he is clear: “The NAC night of course! We may not have the best players or the biggest club, but the supporters are unique. Even if NAC plays champion division in the kitchen, it is always full here.
“My new album is perfect for boosting players and supporters.”
A striking detail about the new competition shirt is that all sponsors agreed to have their logos printed in black. Moreover, part of the proceeds will go to the Youth & Culture Breda Youth Fund.
But there is also a chip in the shirt that gives supporters access to a special Tiësto web page via their phone. Here is also the new music number RVN at Listen. A world premiere, specially linked to NAC. “It’s a hard one rave-plate, perfect to boost the players and supporters for the game. Tonight we will hit him immediately, “he grins.
“I tell everywhere about the NAC night.”
NAC then plays against FC Groningen. Unfortunately, Tiësto does not have his DJ booth with him, but he would love to perform in the Rat Verlegh Stadium in his own city. “I have already turned here in the parking lot and of course on the Grote Markt. So why not in the stadium? There are hooks and eyes on it. You have to take the grass out and it is a huge production. It is not just putting down a DJ booth. But the willingness is always there. I am always in a party.”
Whether it will ever happen remains to be seen. But that Tiësto proudly represents NAC and Breda is Kijf. “Breda will always remain special for me. It’s in my heart. I still follow NAC, read the news and I tell all over the world about this night at NAC. That will never go out again.”
