Thrown away by gust of wind: Dutchman (33) does not survive kitesurfing accident in South Africa | Abroad

The incident happened on Sunrise Beach in Muizenberg, near Cape Town. The Dutchman was taken to hospital in a critical condition after the accident. There he later succumbed to his injuries.

The man was a 33-year-old Dutchman who had been living in South Africa for a few years. According to the ‘AD’, it concerns the Brabant travel entrepreneur Charles Witlox, founder of travel agency Charlie’s Travels.

Two days before the tragic incident, the South African weather service had warned of strong to almost gale-force winds between 50 and 70 kilometers per hour and choppy seas, with waves between 3.5 and 4.5 meters high.
