The first victim was walking on the Weteringschans and was assaulted by the man who was cycling around 3:30 p.m. The cyclist struck the next victim between 4:15 PM and 4:30 PM.

Bright orange jacket

An hour after the first assault, the first victim went for a run in the Vondelpark. Just before the Vondelbrug she saw the man who had recommended her. He wore the same clothes, including a bright orange jacket with the word “king” on the back. She called the police and officers subsequently arrested him.

The attacker denied that he had recommended both women and according to his lawyer he had found the jacket in the bushes. Still, the judge believes there is enough evidence. The second victim also recognized the man when she was shown a photo of him. The descriptions that both women provided also matched and fit the 32-year-old man.
