The German record champions are having a lot of trouble with FC St. Pauli. The decision is only made in stoppage time. Several top performers are not having a good day. The individual criticism.

Mistake avoided, next win achieved: FC Bayern Munich is still on track after the 3-1 (1-1) win against FC St. Pauli on matchday 12 of the Bundesliga. However, coach Vincent Kompany’s team had to work hard for this. The oppressively superior Bayern despaired of the passionately defending Hamburg team for long stretches of the game. The decision was made by two goals in stoppage time.

After the late success, Bayern are now eight points ahead at the top of the table. With corresponding relief, the players took the lap of honor, and Honorary President Uli Hoeneß also applauded with a grin in the stands.

“We believed that we could still score the goals. We’re trying to achieve everything. We didn’t have luck on our side with three goals,” said Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer after the game on Sky.

With the victory, the Munich team set further records: at least two goals in 20 league games in a row and 44 match days in a row at the top. 21 unbeaten league games across all seasons are the longest streak for Bayern since 2019/20.
