Aviation lovers can continue on the military base in Koksijde today at three generations of rescue helicopters: the Sikorsky HSS-1/S-58, the iconic Sea King and the modern NH90 NFH. Together they show the evolution of the capacities of defense in the field of search and rescue.
This edition also commemorates the 60th anniversary of the crash of the helicopter FG-378 in Congo, including Adjudant-Vlieger Frans Allaeys on board, after whom the basis is named. On site, a special exhibition will highlight this chapter from Belgian aviation history.
