Unspeakable Nazi accusation from Kremlin warmonger Vladimir Putin (70).
80 years after the victory of the Soviet Union against the German Wehrmacht in Stalingrad (now Volgograd), Putin compares the Federal Republic to Nazi Germany. The reason for the misleading statement: German arms deliveries to Ukraine.
Putin claims: “It’s unbelievable, but one fact: we are being threatened again with the German tank Leopard.” As in the Second World War, German weapons are being used to fight against Russia on Ukrainian soil, says Putin.
The dictator goes one better in his speech. As in the Second World War, they will defend themselves in Ukraine today. “We have something to answer with. And the matter does not end with the use of armored vehicles. Everyone should understand that,” threatens Putin. Russia has nuclear weapons.
Nasty wartime propaganda used by Putin to justify his invasion of Ukraine! The fact is:
▶︎ 80 years ago, Soviet troops defeated the invading Nazi army in Stalingrad. World War II started from Nazi Germany! Before that, the Wehrmacht invaded the Soviet Union, murdered thousands upon thousands of soldiers and civilians, and committed the worst atrocities. At that time, the Soviet Union successfully defended itself against the attack by Nazi Germany.
It’s different today: Russia is invading Ukraine, killing civilians, abducting children, destroying important infrastructure and calling into question the Ukrainians’ right to life! Germany, together with other states, supplies weapons to Ukraine for self-defense.
▶︎ During World War II, Nazi Germany did NOT fight the Soviet Union with Leopard tanks. This type of tank didn’t exist back then. The Leopard was only developed in the 1960s, i.e. after the end of the Second World War.
Today, Russia occupies the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea and areas in the east of the country. Ukraine is fighting the invading army of Russia with the help of Western weapons. The federal government recently announced that it would deliver 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
