Thousands of trees felled in Amazon for the construction highway for climate summit

In the Brazilian Belém, on the occasion of the COP30 climate summit, a four-lane highway is being constructed that will run by tens of thousands of hectares of protected amazon rain forest. Thousands of trees are cut down for this. The aim is to facilitate traffic in the region for when 50,000 people arrive for the climate summit in November. The BBC reports this.
