Thomas Tuchel allegedly wants an expensive England star

Shortly before the end of the season, FC Bayern’s squad planning for the coming season is in full swing. In focus: a new defensive midfielder. Munich’s head coach Thomas Tuchel apparently has an expensive candidate of choice.

Thomas Tuchel wants a transfer from England international Declan Rice, as “Bild” reports. The 24-year-old should do defensive work in midfield next season and take over the job from national player Joshua Kimmich, it is said. Because he has less of his strengths as a clearer, but rather as a game designer.

Meanwhile, Tuchel was extremely impressed by the qualities of the 1.88 meter tall Rice. The 44-time England international convinces with physical strength, robustness and the ability to organize the game.

Rice was trained at Premier League club West Ham United, and he made his debut in the English top flight with the Londoners in the 2016/17 season as an 18-year-old.

In the past four years he has been one of the undisputed regular players for the Hammers, which is why he has already made an impressive tally of over 200 Premier League games (nine goals).

Declan Rice probably too expensive for Bayern

It’s not the first time Declan Rice has been linked with Bayern Munich. “Sport1” had previously reported that the German record champions found the personnel “exciting”.

The sweeper’s contract with West Ham United runs until 2024, but there is reportedly an option to extend it by a further year. However, the contract situation in particular could make a transfer for FC Bayern more difficult in the summer: its market value is estimated at over 80 million euros, according to the English “Sun” even the equivalent of around 115 million euros is required – far too much for the Munich industry leader.

According to “Bild”, it is made more difficult by the fact that two top English clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal, are said to be interested in Declan Rice.
