On his 36th birthday, Thomas Müller scored three times for the Vancouver Whitecaps. He orders special greetings in his video message.

For Thomas Müller, the Vancouver Whitecaps is fantastic. In his first game after the move to the Canadian west coast, the 2014 world champion led his new team to his highest victory in his MLS history. After the 7-0 (4: 0) against Philadelphia Union, the “Caps” celebrated ex-Bavaria. On his 36th birthday, Müller contributed three goals and one template to the victory of his team.

After the game, the accurate birthday child also spoke up on Instagram. There he said in a video: “What a great evening, we had a big win against Philadelphia.” He also thanked his teammates: “Obviously, they did a good job and put on a hat trick.”

Müller also thanked the birthday wishes. He posed with the game ball throughout the video, where numerous signatures can be seen. The triple scorer sent special greetings to his ex-Bayern teammate Harry Kane: “Harry, now I know how you feel with a hat trick ball.”

Kane was able to score three goals or more in one game for Bayern, and thus collected a few game balls with signatures of his teammates. For Müller it was the seventh tri-pack of his professional career, most recently he had succeeded in 6-2 at Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup in April 2018. Already in his second match for Vancouver, the 131-time international had caused a sensation when he had met 3-2 success against St. Louis City in injury time.
