Müller doubts whether the DFB team is ready for the title

Thomas Müller is critical of the German national team ahead of the World Cup. In the Sky interview he expressed doubts about the maturity of the team.
In the Sky interview, Thomas Müller expressed concerns about whether the German national team is currently ready for a major title. Although he praised the potential of many young players, he does not yet have a clear feeling that they are ready for the title.
“Players like Musiala, Wirtz – I can’t list them all – also Woltemade: They are super talented players, brilliant in their actions, who can and will have a formative impact. But I don’t feel that they are really ready for a title yet,” said Müller in the interview.
“We have the potential to beat everyone, but also the potential to lose to everyone,” said Müller, probably with a view to the upcoming World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Mexico and Canada in the summer.
The 35-year-old hopes for more stability – and for leaders with international appeal: “We as a football nation naturally hope that this stability will return and that we will not only have these potential players, but also players who are influential figures at top international clubs – such as Jo Kimmich who has been at FC Bayern for years or Antonio Rüdiger.”
When asked whether he or Manuel Neuer would probably end their careers, Müller replied with a wink: “I would say it’s an open race. Let’s see! The crazy thing is: Even if I were to add another one after the season, it would only be the short season that lasts until the summer. That means: Maybe we’ll quit together too. I don’t know…”
After the Club World Cup in the summer, Müller moved to Major League Soccer after 25 years at FC Bayern Munich. With the Whitecaps he won the Canadian championship and failed in the final for the MLS title 3-1 to Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. In December, Müller extended his contract with the Canadian club.
