In some places you almost stumble over the error -parked bicycles and that is why municipalities often remove them. As the owner you can pick up your bike in most municipalities in our province for free at a bicycle depot, but in Oosterhout and Best you are expensive. There you pay 30 euros to get your steel ros back, according to research from the ANP.

A municipality can remove bicycles if they are parked wrong or too long, but also if it is a bicycle wreck or ‘orphan bike’, a bicycle can be removed. Most municipalities then store the bikes in a bicycle depot for a certain time. There the owner can pick up his bike again. The rules for this, such as the price to get your bike back or how long a bicycle is stored, differ per municipality.

From free to 30 euros
In many municipalities you can pick up your bike without having to pay for it, but others ask for money for it. In our province you are in Oosterhout and Best with 30 euros the most expensive. This is followed by Breda, Geertruidenberg, Oss, Helmond and Boxtel with 25 euros per bicycle. You have lost 20 euros in Roosendaal and Eindhoven. In Den Bosch 18 euros and 15 euros in Tilburg.

In municipalities where there is no train station, the surplus of bicycles plays less. In practice, only a few bicycles are removed a year. In a few municipalities, the nuisance is even so small that they do not have a bicycle depot for storing away bicycles.
