Neighborhood Tiggelaar is the big winner of the flower parade in Zundert. They won both the jury prize and audience prize with their car. The already sun -drenched day for the neighborhood of Tiggelaar became even brighter.
Twenty neighborhoods participated in the Corso. Of all the participants, the car made ‘phoenix’ the most impression on the jury. The neighborhood received a total of 603 points from the professional jury.
The mythical bird that made the neighborhood is a symbol of strength, hope and rise again. They brought a story about resilience and continuing, even when things are going. The car was on fire, fell together and then came back to life. The extras formed the fire together. During the first parade, the neighborhood could already count on hard applause.
The audience had to wait a little longer for the second passage. The parade postponed for about 45 minutes due to unwellings. The parade started around a quarter past five. The audience did not have to wait a long time for the winner: the Tiggelaar hamlet was the eighth car in the parade.
Tiggelaar was first told that she had the audience prize. The members had not yet finished cheering whether the legendary words ‘you may stop’ sounded. This was followed by the discharge, which is called the ‘Zundert jubel’ in Zundert.
People came to Zundert from all over the country and even abroad. At least 50,000 people admired the colorful creations in the bright sun.
