Laura Wontorra is one of the most famous faces on German sports television. And her former partner is also a prominent person. It is a footballer.
When Borussia Dortmund is a guest on Wednesday evening at the OSC Lille for the second leg in the Champions League round of 16, Laura Wontorra is there. The sports presenter has been under contract with DAZN for several years and is therefore regularly used for the streaming broadcaster. In doing so, she followed in the footsteps of her father Jörg, who is known from programs such as the ARD “Sportschau”, “Ran” at Sat.1 or the “double pass”.
“We met in Kaiserslautern about Pele Wollitz, who introduced us to each other at the time and in the truest sense of the word,” Wontorra once revealed the “picture”. “He was Simon’s coach in Osnabrück and my expert at the Monday games. Then we often left something. He always told a lot about Simon. And by chance he stood in the pub on one evening. Everything started,” she added.
Zoller, around two and a half years younger than Wontorra, played in his career for teams such as Karlsruher SC, 1. FC Kaiserslautern or VfL Bochum. He also spent around four years of his career at 1. FC Köln. In November 2016, he married Wontorra in the cathedral city.
The marriage kept for six years before the two decided to go their own way again. The couple “separated a few weeks ago. Both ask to respect their privacy,” said the management of the moderator of the “Bild” newspaper at the end of 2022.
Little is known about the current relationship status of the 36-year-old. But: At the Oktoberfest last year, she wore her dirndl’s loop on the left, which is a sign of being single.
