Finnish Laine enjoys Montreal. It was also visible in the choice of housing.

Patrick Laine got off to a flying start in Montreal when the Finn managed to score in his first two games in the Canadiens outfit.

The good feeling was certainly enhanced by the fact that the bunch belonging to the bottom mud of the series managed to win Laine’s first games.

So it’s no wonder that Laine arrived at Saturday night’s Washington game in a good mood. The man was dressed in an outfit in which the colors of Montreal shone.

– This is the best place I’ve ever played, Laine felt even before the start of the match Sportsnet in the fieldside interview.

The match itself was a bit stickier. Even though the home team went into the first period with a 2–0 lead, Washington took the game 4–2.

Laine shot four times in the game, but missed power points. He got 16:54 of ice time.

Captain of Montreal Nick Suzuki was naturally disappointed with his team’s meltdown.

– We got off to a great start. Overall, I think our game was tight. However, they are a good team, and if we had scored from our positions, we would have gotten a better result, Suzuki regretted on the NHL website.

– This is hard to swallow at the moment, the man continued.
