Evert Santegoeds knows more about the sudden and silent departure of Anouk Smulders at Shownieuws. According to him, she left because of the new format of the show section.
Anouk Smulders, the wife of Paparazzo Edwin Smulders, was fashion and lifestyled expert at the Desk of Shownieuws for years, but she left completely silently. The show section has a new format to save money: instead of four experts, three experts can now be seen, and the free place is filled by a free BN’er guest.
New format
Private boss Evert Santegoeds, who is at the Desk several times a week, confirms the change of course. “Yes, we have guests nowadays. This week Jon van Eerd, for example, and Erik de Zwart was once as a guest and he liked that he now comes along more often. That way the program is always a bit moving,” he says in his podcast.
Does Evert like all those PR talks from those Dutch celebrities? “Yes, I see everyone coming by. Mart Hoogkamer we had and he really wanted to say my ‘The Netherlands is again at the end of the broadcast. I like it.”

What about Anouk’s departure? “I believe that Shownieuws goes a little more to Shownieuws and she mainly had the beauty topics and the fashion sets. I believe she thought of: well, then my program is no longer. I don’t know if she will never come again, but she will be used less.”
Who would like to see Evert as a BN’er-guest? “Máxima would always be welcome. It is always nice to have guests and then you have to bet high.”
