Simon Keizer wants to make a career as a TV presenter, but is making a false start, according to Tina Nijkamp. She thinks the decor of his show Unforgettable Songs is a rookie mistake. “Very ugly.”
After the Nick & Simon split, Nick Schilder managed to achieve more solo success than Simon Keizer. The latter is now trying out as a TV presenter. He started on Thursday evening on NPO 1 with Unforgettable Songs, but that did not score unforgettable viewing figures. 615 thousand people watched it, a ‘conservative score’ according to Tina Nijkamp.
‘Really ugly!’
TV authority Tina is not surprised. “I thought it was a really nice program with beautiful songs. Only the setting was really ugly. In Volendam. Someone DM’ed me that it was Hotel Spaander. In any case: it just didn’t look right with all those diamonds in the background,” she says in her podcast Tina’s TV Update.
It looks very amateurish, she thinks. “The wind was blowing like crazy, it was recorded during the day, so I was just looking at blowing bushes the whole time. Yes, that’s just a shame, because that setting ruins a lot.”
‘Chairs are ugly too!’
What else was ugly about Simon’s TV show? “Those chairs were also ugly. The cafe where they met was also ugly. And then Volendam was mentioned all the time. Very unfortunate.”
She adds on her analysis channel: “Why, why does this have to take place in Volendam again? Why do Volendam people always want to constantly refer to Volendam? So tired of it.”
