This year too, Heidi Klum’s annual Halloween party it turned into an event of very high creative tension, with the hostess the protagonist of her most complex metamorphosis. Forget the irony of the worm or the sweetness of ET: Heidi Klum has become Medusa for Halloween 2025a mythological nightmare that took months of work. To accompany her on the blue carpether husband Tom Kaulitz, perfect in the role of her latest victim: a petrified warrior.

More than a dress, Klum wore a prosthetic work of art. The model was wrapped in a full body suit which simulated reptilian scales in shades of green and gold, covering every inch of skin, including clawed hands and a full face mask. The highlight was one snake tail of almost two and a half meters, equipped with hidden wheels to allow it to “crawl” and a battery pack to power the movement of the head.

Medusa’s head: animatronic snakes
No wig: instead of hair, Heidi’s head was a nest of over twelve animatronic snakes which moved and hissed realistically, terrifying photographers. The look was rendered chilling from reptilian contact lenses which shone bright yellow. The inspiration, as confirmed by his team, comes directly from the frightening stop-motion Medusa created by Ray Harryhausen for the film Clash of the Titans from 1981.

The realism of the look was in the details. The transformation, handled by special effects wizard Mike Marino, included razor sharp acrylic teeth and one frightening forked tongue of almost thirteen centimeters. The latter was not only applied but fixed to the model’s real tongue via a complex suction cup devicewhich required Heidi Klum to keep her mouth as dry as possible to make it work.
“I’d been playing with the idea of Medusa for a while, and I thought, ‘Let’s do Medusa properly,’” the model said. He admitted to not having thought about the feminist implications of the mythbut to have focused on the visual impact: “She’s just a really strong, scary snake woman.”
Tom Kaulitz: a petrified warrior
To complete the mythological scene, her husband Tom Kaulitz was unrecognizable in the role of a Greek soldier turned to stone. His costume, with attention to the smallest details, simulated the texture of cracked granite, complete with armor and shield, immortalized in the act of defending himself from his wife’s lethal gaze. On the blue carpet, the couple played their parts: she hissed and aimed a bow, he stood still in his statue pose.

Heidi Klum Halloween 2025: the sacrifices for a “nightmare” night
Such a masterpiece required extreme sacrifices. The structure of the Halloween 2025 costume made almost impossible to sit and prohibited any trivial movement. Eating or drinking were complex feats due to the facial prosthetics. Regarding physiological needs, the team admitted that going to the bathroom would be impractical: Heidi Klum had to wear adult diapers under the complex suit for the entire duration of the event. In short, a real nightmare, but a successful one.
