Tim den Besten was attacked last night in the talk show of Eva Jinek, because he went to his interview with King Willem-Alexander dressed relatively casually. “This isn’t exactly chic.”
For some children’s program, Tim den Besten held a TV interview with none other than King Willem-Alexander. The presenter was invited to the palace, but did not appear in a jacket. He looked pretty casual with a polo shirt and a pair of sneakers (see below).
“Why did you go like this?”
Antoinnette Scheulderman does not think it is nice of Tim. The journalist, millionaire wife and girlfriend of Linda de Mol spoke to him about it last night in Eva Jinek’s talk show. “I was just curious why you went to the king dressed so casually.”
Tim: “Yes, I’m not really sure how I… I’ve thought about it, because I bought that polo at the Bijenkorf. Or at another… The V&D. Oh, that was a long time ago. I also like my red socks.”
Eva Jinek: “As far as you’re concerned, this was dressed?”
“Do you like this dressed?”
Antoinette pinnig: “Do you think this is dressed? But you’re wearing jeans.”
Tim: “No, this is a corduroy.”
Antoinette: “Oh, that’s a corduroy, okay.”
Tim: “Ribbed trousers. But I did think about it and I also thought a bit… Anyway, I’m making a children’s program and I would just go to the king. I think I look neat. Why would I suddenly be in a three piece suit or dress suit? Then I also feel a bit embarrassed and that doesn’t make me any better.”
Excellence lunch
Antoinnette has also visited the palace, namely during the so-called excelling lunch. Tim: “What were you wearing?”
She said: “That’s why I think about it. He was still crown prince then. But then I put on really neat clothes. I’ll dress like the one I’m interviewing and I’ll find someone… It’s the king after all. In any case: I had then chosen to dress a bit neatly.”
blunder
Antoinette made a big blunder during that lunch. “I was sitting at Máxima’s table and then at one point I asked her which magazines she read. That was apparently an impertinent question. I don’t know how it came up, because it’s been ten years, but I asked directly and I also noticed it wasn’t a very good question.”
She continues: “I felt a little embarrassed. She made it clear that that was a question you didn’t ask her. In any case, it was so obvious that I felt a little red, that it was a little embarrassing actually.”
“Not so sour!”
Tim witty: “I didn’t do that with the king.”
Antoinette bitchy: “No, you didn’t ask an embarrassing question. I did look chic then.”
Eva laughing: “Hahaha. Not so sour guys! It’s Friday night, be nice!”
