“This is pointless, have a nice evening”

Jeroen Pauw denies that he made a racist joke against Nadia Bouras. He states that the historian is telling blatant untruths about him. “This is pointless, have a nice evening.”

The PVV’s big election victory is keeping people busy and Jeroen Pauw joined Khalid & Sophie last night to chat about it. It was announced yesterday on X and historian Nadia Bouras responded. She reposted the tweet with a pretty strong accusation against the talk show host.

Cycling diploma

According to Nadia, Jeroen treated her racist in 2008. “My very first media appearance (in debate with Halbe Zijlstra about integration 🙄) was in 2008 at Pauw & Witteman. A minute before the live broadcast, Jeroen asked me: ‘Did you come by bike or, as a Moroccan, have you not yet obtained a cycling diploma?’ First meeting ever.”

It causes shocked reactions. “No??” says Trouw columnist Emine Ugur.

A certain Marcel thinks that this explains something: “Pauw personally hoisted Wilders on the shield during the SBS 6 debate. As a producer.”

Pauw denies

Jeroen denies Nadia’s fierce accusation. “Hey, Nadia Bouras, this is quite malicious. Why would you make something like that up?”

Nadia claims she’s not lying. “Why would I make that up? It really happened. We were both there. Maybe you forgot? You probably meant it in a funny way, but I couldn’t laugh at it.”

‘Good evening’

Jeroen thinks it’s bizarre that someone would just make this up. “No idea why you made it up. I quite like a ‘bad’ joke, although I don’t find this example funny. You say yes and I say no, I shouldn’t have responded, it’s all so pointless. Good evening.”

Nadia: “I didn’t find it funny or pleasant either. Why do you think I still remember after all these years? It wasn’t the first time I heard such ‘jokes’. Anyway, have a nice evening.”

Apologies

Some believe that Jeroen should still apologize, even though it may not have happened. For example, Marloes says: “It is only malicious to call someone a liar instead of apologizing for that nasty comment, even if you don’t remember it.”

“It was a bad experience for her, so take responsibility.”
