Father and son Peltsi and Osmo spend Christmas with their relatives. The important thing is that they get to spend time together and eat chocolate.
One of the most followed duos this year has been presenter Mikko “Peltsi” Peltola and his son Osmo Peltola. In December 2024, a six-part TV show about father and son was published, which changed Osmo’s life in particular. He is now a TV star.
Peltsi describes the past year as busy. There has been more work than in previous years. He has filmed Pelts second nature -series’ new season, did speaking gigs and held lectures. Pelts and Osmo have been awarded numerous awards, which they have collected from various events around Finland.

Osmo has also enjoyed the year, TV stardom and traveling with his father and cameraman Juha Korhonen with.
At Christmas, Peltolat calms down among the family and relatives to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere together.
– The children play together with their cousins and the adults gorge themselves on chocolate, Peltsi laughs.
The morning usually starts with a traditional joint Christmas porridge, which is followed by the declaration of Christmas peace. Weather permitting, everyone goes out together until it’s time for dinner and hanging out together.
– After that, the gift rally starts, he continues.
What for a gift?
Pelts second nature – in the fifth episode of the new season, Peltsi and Osmo visited Korvatunturi. In the episode, Osmo talks a lot about Santa Claus and elves, and Peltsi asks his son about his Christmas present wishes.
– My own great penalty, Osmo said in the episode.
– A new pen! he added.
Peltsi now states that Santa Claus must have heard Osmo’s wishes.
– Of course, Santa Claus watches our program, so he knows them, Peltsi carves.

Peltsi himself does not wish for Christmas presents, but rather he is terrified of overspending and unnecessary packages. He wishes for himself one box of chocolates.
– Of course, it’s nice to watch when the children have fun. Of course, for them too, we think that the gifts are thoughtful and necessary. There’s no such thing as extravagant shopping for the joy of shopping, but you have to keep your wits about you in these matters, Peltsi says.
– I don’t remember the last time I went Christmas shopping somewhere. I have bought the children skis, bicycles or something else that they really needed, he concludes.
At the moment, the threat of a rather black Christmas prevails in Finland, and there is no information about snow, for example, in the capital region. Peltsi is upset about the situation, but that shouldn’t spoil the Christmas mood either.
The Peltolas are planning a trip to the north for next year, so that they can do their favorite pastime, which is skiing.
A great year

Peltsi and Osmo series was published on Yle Areena on December 16, 2024. Only a month later, the duo got a real jackpot when their program was chosen as program of the year and Osmo Peltola as performer of the year at the Venla gala.
In their program, father and son explore nature, ski, bike and spend the night in nature. During the year, Peltsi and Osmo have been awarded, among other things, the Suomen Latu and Finnish outdoor organizations’ Outdoor Activity of the Year award, the State Award for Information Disclosure and the Domestic Tourism Activity of the Year award. In November 2025, Pelts and Osmo were presented with the John Vikström movement award in the Crypt of Helsinki Cathedral.
Iltalehti reported in December 2025 that a film is being planned about Pelts and Osmo. The Finnish Film Foundation’s support decisions revealed that Yellow Film & TV Oy was granted development support of 20,000 euros on December 9.
– There have been such plans. I have not told about it myself, because it is at the planning level and it has been talked about, Peltsi commented to Iltalehte.
– The film is such a big deal and there are so many moving parts of all kinds, so it’s not certain yet, he summed up.
