Former top hockey player and coach Miika Elomo was discovered last Sunday in her home outside Paris. Elomo was 47 years old.
This season he coached the Jokers de Cergy team in the French League. Elomo was going to another season as the club’s head coach.
The man’s French home was in the Val-D’oinen area north of Paris.
The death of Elomo in Turku has shocked a Finnish and French hockey family.
On Monday night, the French league canceled the match between Cergy and Amiens. In other round matches, Elomo’s memory is respected at a quiet moment.
In Finland, too, the man’s former clubs remember the attacker.
– HIFK remembers Miika on social media and website. We will send the address later to the relatives, says Roland Carlsson, a stakeholder and former top player.
Elomo played in the 1998 championship team.

Elomo was born and grew up in Turku. He went through the TPS Junior Path and made his debut in the League in the TPS shirt in 1994-95.
