There is also a lot of support from the public. “I normally buy one every year. I think that is important to support the people,” says Claude Carlier. “I always take my patch with me to show that I have already bought one,” adds Nadine De Wulf. “We buy a plaster out of sympathy for the work they do,” say Frida Saubain and Jacques Vande Woestyne.
The plaster campaign runs until May 8. In West Flanders, the campaign continues to grow year after year, with more than 97,000 plasters sold last year.
