It took five years for a new Defones album to come-and now it is finally that far. On Thursday, the Defones announced that they will publish their album “Private Music” on August 22 via Reprise and Warner Records. At the same time, the new single “My Mind is a Mountain” appeared.

Home and collaboration with Nick Raskulinecz

The artwork of the upcoming album “Private Music” by Deftones shows a light green background, over which a white snake creeps. The band also published the tracklist with eleven songs for private music, including titles such as “Souvenir”, “Cut Hands”, “Metal Dream” and “Departing the Body”.

The album is a kind of return home for the band members Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, ABE Cunningham and Frank Delgado, who produced the project together with Nick Raskulinecz in Malibu, Joshua Tree and Nashville. Raskulinecz already worked with the band at Diamond Eyes in 2010 and in 2012 at Koi No Yokan.

The publication of the album is celebrated with a show on the evening of August 22nd in Vancouver before stations in cities such as Minneapolis, Buffalo, Toronto, Cleveland, Baltimore, St. Louis, Denver, Louisville and Sacramento follow – as part of their own tour and festival appearances. Defones take the bands Phantogram and Idles on tour for their own concerts.
