The freak out at the game against Gladbach is not without consequences for Karim Adeyemi. BVB now imposed a fine during the training camp.
The German national player Karim Adeyemi accepted a fine from his club Borussia Dortmund after his outburst of anger against Borussia Mönchengladbach (2-0) and now has to dig deep into his pockets. According to information from the German Press Agency, BVB’s sporting leadership imposed a fine in the high five-figure range at the training camp in Marbella.
According to the “Bild” newspaper, the sum is around 90,000 euros. The sports information service denies the amount. So far, BVB has not commented on this. How high the sum is remains unclear.
During Dortmund’s 2-0 win against Gladbach shortly before Christmas, Adeyemi reacted angrily to his premature substitution. Sports director Sebastian Kehl prevented the 23-year-old from escaping into the dressing room and announced a fine immediately after the game.
On Friday, coach Niko Kovač said after arriving in Andalusia that there had been no conversation with the 23-year-old. “We haven’t done that before. After the game, of course, everyone went off in their own directions,” said Kovač. Now the whole thing should be gone through “again in a personal conversation with four, six or eight eyes.”
