Last summer, Cole Campbell was already on the verge of saying goodbye to Borussia Dortmund, recently there were again reports of a desire to move, and now a transfer is apparently imminent. According to consistent media reports, the 19-year-old winger is moving from BVB to TSG Hoffenheim.

Accordingly, the right winger will initially be loaned out until the end of the season, for which the black and yellow should receive a fee of 1.5 million euros. According to the “Ruhr Nachrichten”, the Sinsheim-based company then has a purchase option worth around 10 million euros. Should there be a permanent move, BVB would generate a decent transfer profit after Campbell came to Dortmund on a free transfer in 2022. His contract there is valid until 2028.
The American is scheduled to complete his medical this Sunday at TSG, which, like BVB, is currently in training camp in Spain. He would be the second winter departure from BVB after Pascal Groß, who moved back to Brighton. In addition to the Kraichgauers, Bröndby IF, FC Midtjylland with ex-BVB coach Mike Tullberg and SV Elversberg are also said to have inquired about Campbell.

Campbell played a total of seven games for the BVB professionals, most often playing in the U19s with 35 games (12 goals, 14 assists). This season, coach Niko Kovac only played 16 minutes in the Bundesliga against 1. FC Heidenheim. This is said to have increasingly frustrated the player, which is why a way out was sought. He will be Hoffenheim’s number one external newcomer this winter.
