You can freak out, you can be sad. Or make the best of it. After Radiohead had to postpone their first two Copenhagen concerts at short notice (current status: They are now scheduled to be rescheduled for December 15th and 16th, 2025), many disappointed local fans, but also fans traveling from all over the world, started a fan campaign in the Danish capital.
A Reddit user made a suggestion a few hours after the cancellation. If not a Radiohead concert, then at least a Radiohead karaoke night. Without further ado, he reserved a bar in the center of Copenhagen. And thus triggered an unexpected avalanche of fans.
The originally intended karaoke room capacity of just 25 people didn’t stop anyone from partying. As initiator Cory McLeod later told us “NME” confirmed, about 1,000 Radiohead fans showed up, turning the bar into a crowded replacement concert. Throughout the night they sang “Karma Police”, “No Surprises” and “Creep” (the hit that Radiohead didn’t play on this tour anyway).
What will become of Berlin?
Four Radiohead concerts are planned for December 8th to 12th, 2025. Thom Yorke had to postpone “Copenhagen 1” and “Copenhagen 2” due to a “severe sore throat”. Since the band’s announcement is dated December 1st, the singer has been ill since at least November 30th. Most medical professionals would estimate that it takes a person about two weeks to fully recover from a throat infection and then sing on a stage for two hours almost consecutively for six evenings.
That’s why many Radiohead fans are worried that both the Berlin and Copenhagen shows could be postponed. And in January, another musician’s schedule could put a damper on the band’s possible catch-up concerts.
