Eva Jinek will officially no longer be under contract with RTL 4 in four days, so she can then fully focus on her new adventure at NPO 1. “That will be a tough one.”
From one hundred thousand euros per month to two hundred thousand euros per year: Eva Jinek’s salary drop is enormous, but she does get a dream slot in return. She was on RTL 4 in the late evening, but will soon get the time slot on NPO 1 where De Wereld Draait Door broadcast for years: 7 p.m. This can of course be easily combined with family life.
Eva to NPO 1
Eva must give prestige to the early talk show of the country’s most watched TV channel, because it has all fallen into considerable disrepair due to types like Margriet van der Linden and Khalid & Sophie. And that is not the only thing on NPO 1 that has fallen into decline. In fact, everything has really fallen into disrepair lately.
Due to the secrecy of the current viewing figures, we get less of it, but NPO 1 has been scoring really badly lately. Ratings authority Tina Nijkamp has already sounded the alarm several times, but the channel’s boss seems completely lost. And while TV goddess Tina has also applied for that position.
Huge chaos
Anyway: NPO 1 scores a lot worse and Eva’s comeback will take another eight months (!). “Not only is there enormous chaos at the NPO, with all kinds of riots, arguments and angry egos, but the viewing figures are also one big disappointment,” Tina writes in her column for The Telegraph.
Eva never expected this when she decided to return to public broadcasting, Tina thinks. “Since Eva signed that contract in June, NPO 1’s viewing figures have approximately halved. And Eva has to fix that again.”
‘It’s going to be difficult’
And that will be ‘difficult’, Tina thinks. “Difficult. Only from September onwards, and so Eva’s program will have a long preparation, far too long. Sometimes you can think about something TOO extensively.”
Media expert Victor Vlam expects Eva to reach one million viewers, but Tina doesn’t think so. She points to the competition with RTL Boulevard and Lang Leve De Liefde. “It could be a tough sell for Eva to get higher viewing figures than Khalid & Sophie.”
Utopia
Will Eva really get mediocre marks on NPO 1? Tina does not rule out if the channel continues like this. “I hope not for Eva, but I am afraid that the intended million plus viewers will turn out to be a utopia.”
