No less than half of the doctors think they will stop his or her private practice as Minister of Health Frank Vandenbroucke (Vooruit) enters a wage ceiling. Hip surgeon Kristoff Corten (47) is one of them. He stamped a multidisciplinary practice in Westerlo, but it is in danger of going overhead if that wage ceiling comes. “The minister underestimates the impact of his plan,” he sighs. Corten puts an alternative on the table: “You can save millions of euros in health care through social entrepreneurship, without hurting anyone.”
