Henny Huisman believes that he receives too little appreciation from Hilversum, not only in front of the scenes, but also behind the scenes. He accuses the TV bosses of stealing. “Those are my ideas!”
It’s a shame for Henny Huisman: he has been trying to regain a foothold at the Media Park for years, but no one will accept him. Not only is he no longer hired by anyone as a presenter, but he is also not exactly successful as a creator of TV formats. And that makes him very sad.
Stealing work
Henny thinks he will just give up a bit in 2026. “I no longer have a need for television. I still come up with programs, although that is more for others. I pitch them,” he says in the Story.
What happens to those ideas? “Then I am told that they had already come up with something similar, and I later see my program idea on TV with a few adjustments.”
Ten examples
So stealing, says Henny. “I can name ten examples, although I won’t reveal any titles. But that’s how it works these days. So I prefer to concentrate on my life with Lia.”
Lia likes it that her husband is just at home. In the past, she could never reach him when he was in the studio, she complains. “There were no mobile phones at the time, so you could call or text. It sometimes happened that I woke up at night and Henny was not yet home. Then I got worried.”
Ah, the carrier pigeon era. Has Henny really not been on television for so long? It’s also not easy…
