“They had names, dreams, lives”: images of family of pediatrician in Gaza who lost nine of her ten children go around the world

Alaa Al-Najjar, a 38-year-old pediatrician in Gaza, lost nine of her ten children at an Israeli attack on her home in Khan Younis. Only her 11-year-old son Adam and her husband, Arts Hamdi Al-Najjar, survived. Both are seriously injured in the hospital where Alaa works. Her other children were buried immediately. “She begged to hold her children one more time.”
