The death of Treinti, a trans photographer from Ciudad Evita, generated commotion and opened a strong complaint for transvesticicide against the Buenos Aires Police. The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 18, when a patrol car that—according to the testimony of those who knew her—was driving without lights ran over her on one of the neighborhood streets. After the impact, they say, the police themselves loaded her into their cell phone and took her to the nearest health center. LGBTIQ+ organizations question the actions of police personnel and demand official information that has not been disseminated until now.

Treinti was known in the cultural environment for her work as a photographer of recitals and artists. From his Instagram account, @30y5mm, he portrayed figures such as J Balvin, Tiago PZK, Cazzu and Ángela Torres. His community of friends, colleagues and followers multiplied their calls for justice online and demanded that the cause move forward without cover-ups. The claims aim to disseminate the identity of the agents who were on board, the number of the patrol car and the actions carried out after the incident.

Sexual diversity groups emphasize that the case is part of a context of growing violence against transvestites and trans people. According to the Hate Crimes Observatory, more attacks were recorded in the first half of 2025 alone than in the entire previous year, a trend that coincides with complaints of police abuses in different parts of the country.

The news broke while the 38th Plurinational Meeting of Women and Diversities was taking place in Corrientes, where thousands of participants once again demanded effective policies against gender violence and transvesticides. Treinti’s death amplified these demands and exposed the persistent vulnerability of trans identities to security forces that continue to be accused of discriminatory practices.

Friends, artists and organizations insist on a central request: that justice intervene with transparency and that the investigation advance without delay. Treinti’s death, they conclude, cannot be reduced to a statistic or an operational error, but must be clarified as a case of institutional violence.
