The newly crowned world champion and defending champion Luke Littler and the world number one Luke Humphries lead the field of participants in the Premier League Darts 2025. The PDC confirmed the lineup for the extremely prestigious competition on Monday.

Luke Littler and Luke Humphries as well as six other stars of the darts scene will compete against each other on 17 match days between February and May.

Both had already secured their participation in the Premier League thanks to their placement in the top 4 of the Order of Merit, as did runner-up world champion Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross.

The PDC’s four wild cards this year go to Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price, Chris Dobey and Nathan Aspinall.

Two-time world champion Peter Wright is not there for the first time in eleven years after a weak season. 2022 world champion Michael Smith is also missing compared to last year.

The World Cup semi-finalists Bunting and Dobey were each nominated for the second time. Price, 2021 world champion, and Aspinall were already at the start at the last event.

“We’re really excited about this year’s lineup, which will delight audiences across the UK and Europe,” said PDC CEO Matt Porter. Ticket sales for 2025 are “record-breaking”, says Porter, and the Premier League will “reach a huge live audience”.

He added: “All eight players have great experience on the biggest stage and have just put in brilliant performances at the World Cup. We are looking forward to 17 brilliant weeks of competition.”

Premier League Darts 2025: Luke Littler favorite, but …

Sam Behar from Premier League sponsor BetMGM was also “enthusiastic” about the field of participants in this year’s edition.

Littler is the bookmakers’ favorite because of his performances at the World Cup, “but all eight players have so much quality that any of them could win in May and we can’t wait for it to finally get started.”

The Premier League season begins on February 6th in Belfast. On May 29th, the four best professionals will play for the title in London, the winner will receive 275,000 pounds (around 331,000 euros) in prize money, which does not count towards the Order of Merit.

The 9th matchday will take place on April 3rd in the Berlin Uber Arena.
