These stars are on Barack Obama’s summer playlist

Former US President Barack Obama said that music “can really bring us all together”. Now he released his summer playlist this year with tracks by Wet Leg, Burna Boy, Harry Styles, Sampa The Great and many others.

Posting his latest playlist on July 26, he commented, “Every year I look forward to sharing my summer playlist with you guys because I get to know so many new artists through your replies – it’s an example of how music affects us all.” can really bring together”.

The playlist includes Wet Leg’s “Angelica”, Beyoncé’s “BREAK MY SOUL”, Maggie Rogers’ “That’s Where I Am” and Sampa The Great’s “Energy”. For older titles, Obama also chose Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark,” Miles Davis’ “Blue In Green,” and Aretha Franklin’s “Save Me.”

In December, Obama shared his favorite music of 2021, including tracks from The War On Drugs, Little Simz and Mitski. He also posted his personal favorites from the past twelve months on social media and revealed his film highlights and favorite books. Topping Obama’s 2021 list are Mitski’s comeback song “The Only Heartbreaker,” from her new album Laurel Hell, as well as The War On Drugs’ “I Don’t Live Here Anymore,” from the group’s eponymous record.
