Pulkkinen is still without a club, and there has been no word from the Finnish hockey player or his representative for weeks.
Now Pulkkinen’s agent Aljosa Pilko said the Russian Champions-sport news website that Pulkkinen is training with the European ice hockey team and is waiting for offers from the KHL.
Pilko did not elaborate on which country Pulkkinen is currently in.
– The situation regarding Pulkkinen has not changed. There are offers, but for certain reasons they have not been suitable for us. Teemu is currently training in a good European club. We are waiting for interesting offers from the KHL, Pilko told Championat.
– Teemu is in good physical condition and really wants to play hockey.
Pulkkinen has played in the KHL since the 2018–19 season. When Russia attacked Ukraine in early 2022, Pulkkinen was the only Finnish hockey player who remained in Russia.
Pulkkinen has commented on playing in Russia to the Finnish media only once, when MTV Urheilu managed to get the man on the phone in June 2022.
– Yeah, I don’t… I’m not… And there’s nothing here. I don’t want to take any position on this, Pulkkinen said according to MTV Urheilu at the time before hanging up the phone.
Pulkkinen is automatically out of the Finnish national team with his KHL selection.
