Orange reigns supreme in track cycling, as was recently evident more than ever during the World Cup. Sprinters Harrie Lavreysen and Hetty van de Wouw were in a class of their own with four and three gold medals respectively, while multi-talented Lorena Wiebes was good for two world titles (omnium and scratch). In the run-up to the Cycling Six Days Rotterdam (2 to 7 December), former world champion Theo Bos (42) explains why the Netherlands dominates so much on the slopes. “They said: ‘You are coming too.’ You couldn’t say no.”
