Last summer, Kelvin Evans was arrested for stealing hard drives containing music and tour schedules Beyonce allegedly stole from a rental car in Atlanta. He pleaded not guilty. The charges include a felony count of entering a motor vehicle with intent to commit larceny and a misdemeanor count of trespassing. The trial is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 11th.

In July 2025, choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue filed a report after the back window of their rental car was damaged and two suitcases went missing. They were in Atlanta for the “Cowboy Carter” tour stop there. About a week later, an arrest warrant was issued for a suspect – but Evans himself was not arrested until August and officially named as a suspect in September. He was released on $20,000 bail in October.

In the complaint, Grant told officers he was carrying “personal, sensitive information” from musician Beyoncé. The hard drives for their Atlanta show were also stolen. According to the police report, some of the drives contained “watermarked music, some unreleased tracks, film material, show schedules and past and future setlists.”

Stolen material not revealed

At the time of Evans’ arrest, the Atlanta Police Department said “the stolen items have not yet been recovered.”

According to CBS News, Evans was offered a plea deal in April. Evans rejected the offer: five years in prison for vehicle theft, 12 months for trespassing. If convicted, Evans could face up to six years in prison.
