Mikaela Shiffr was severely injured in early December. Still, the American rose to historical achievements on Sunday – partly with Finnish lessons.

Mikaela Shiffr 29, made sports history on Sunday in Sestrie, Italy. The Colorado won his career in the Hundreds of World Cup winning. No other athlete has been able to win a hundred white circus in the World Cup.
– He showed his greatness on Sunday. Achieving a hundred winnings is an insane thing. Sunday’s victory also came a little behind the tree, as his grandevatomy show on Friday and Saturday in Sestriere did not promise much, Shiffrin’s second coach Janne Haarala tells you.
In Friday’s Grand Slalom race, 29-year-old Shiffr was only 25th. On Saturday, he missed the second round. It is rare for a Shriffrin -level athlete.
On Sunday, the world’s most famous snow sports active athlete bumped into a victory in slalom and a hundred wins were full.
– Two and a half months that profit was expected. The athlete waited, and our whole team was the same, Haarala continues.

Shiffrin’s season has been difficult, even dramatic. The woman crashed drastically in the Killington Grand Slalom race in early December.
He was quite seriously injured, and the sports world did not know what happened to the superstar exactly.
Shiffrin revealed a little later on social media that his own rod stuck in the stomach and serious injuries were really close.
– Maybe it pierced me and then I spun over it, and the rod dug into a small cavity on my side. You can never tell. I’m just happy that the injuries came into the muscles alone, Shiffrin wrote to his followers in December.
Feelings
Shiffrin’s crash was special.
– One hundred of the hundred times if trying, the rod wouldn’t hit the stomach in that way. For a long time, he lived in ignorance of how rehabilitation progresses, Haarala says.
– Although Mikaela had 99 World Cup wins, she has feelings. The injury left a trace. He has also worked tremendously with the mental side. He has had good days and a little worse days. It’s quite normal, Haarala says.

Haarala marked the second round of Sunday’s slalom race. So Shiffrin took the historic victory in a Baana marked by his own coach.
Before the round, the two talked about how to mark the track.
– I asked the athlete before the race what he wanted. He replied that the normal course is good. Then I put a little more turns on the top of the track and more speed at the bottom. He glittered it well, Haarala, who lives in Maria Alm, Austria praises.

There have been difficulties on Shiffrin’s career before this. In the 2018-2019 season, he won a stunning 17 World Cup.
After that, the life of the American happened together.
Jeff-The father died accidentally in 2020 at the age of only 65. A little earlier, a close grandmother to the athlete slept away. After these events, Shiffrin struggled with his motivation.
There was no ski at the 2022 Olympics.
Last season, Shiffr was injured in Cortina d’Amppezzo in the downhill fall. In the same winter the boyfriend Aleksander Aamodt Kilde drove out in the race hard. Recovery from a big injury has long been gone from the Norwegian race.
And this winter, Shiffrin got a nasty hit on his own rod and lost more than two months from the season.
Achieving the historical boundary has required sacrifices and tears.
“Hellish pressures”
Coach Haarala believes that a historical hundredth victory may release shiffrin mentally.
– I hope to release. Hundreds of profits have been expected. The media has made it even a bigger thing about it. The athlete has had hell pressures.
The Shiffrin team will not admire the achievement for a long time. Next, the crowd will move to Åre in Sweden.

The World Women’s Technology World Cup will continue in Åre in less than two weeks.
– We’re going to continue working. Practice and work are trying to get the athlete to the same level as before the December injury. He’s not there yet. The calculation is not as stable as two and a half months ago. That’s why Sunday’s victory was a bit of a surprise, Haarala says.
– There is still one left in Sweden and then there will be the World Cup finals in Sun Valley, the United States. Fortunately, the athlete’s fitness curve looks up. On the lathe, the frank Haarala says.
Shiffrin hired Haarala for his second personal coach last spring. Since 2023, Karin Log has been the second sport coach of the superstar.
