The attackers opened fire on the people at the bus stop around 7:30 am (local time). They were eventually shot dead by two soldiers who happened to be passing by and an armed civilian.
According to Israeli media, the brothers (30 and 38) have previously been detained for terrorist activities. They are believed to have been members of Hamas, according to Israeli intelligence.
“Hamas apparently speaks with two voices: one voice of the so-called ceasefire and a second voice of terror,” responded far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
Among the fatalities was a young lady aged 24, reports the emergency medical service Magen David Adom. In addition, a 60-year-old woman and a 73-year-old man were killed.
