Opposition party Gemeentebelangen, the party that had for decades under Leopold Lippens, does not pick that statement. Gaëlle Six, Gemeentebelangen Knokke-Heist: “For us, exclusivity really stands for the authenticity, quality and positivity that Knokke-Heist has been known for a long time and I think we should not compromise on that. I also believe that a mayor should be the ambassador of her municipality, that she should sell her municipality and with that communication that is not the case.”
